Sage Drive Connection & Sync Repair
"Sage 50 has lost contact with the current Sage Drive company." We get your data back.
The error everybody arrives with
Sage 50 has lost contact with the current Sage Drive company.
Some variation of that message is what brings most people to this page. Others see a sync that never finishes, a shared company that one user can open and another cannot, or a prompt to download the company again that produces a file missing recent work.
Whatever the wording, the underlying worry is the same: your books are in a shared cloud copy, something has come loose, and it is no longer obvious which version of your data is the real one.
Why this is different from ordinary file damage
A shared Sage 50 company has more than one copy in play - a cloud-hosted version and a local working copy on each machine that connects to it. Normally you never think about that. When the connection breaks, it becomes the whole problem, because the copies can disagree.
That is why the first job is not repair, it is working out where your most complete data actually is. Sometimes the freshest records are in the cloud copy. Sometimes a workstation that has been offline for a week is holding entries that never made it up. Occasionally the answer is that different machines each hold part of the picture and the right result is a merge.
Reconnecting or re-downloading before that question is settled is how people lose work permanently. It is worth a phone-free hour of care before anyone clicks anything.
What we do
- Establish which copy is authoritative - across the cloud company and every local copy you can get to.
- Recover data from a local copy that will not reconnect - including a company left stranded when the share was broken.
- Repair the company file itself where the disconnection left actual damage behind.
- Reconcile competing copies when more than one holds work the others do not.
You end with one company file you can trust, and a clear account of what came from where.
Before you do anything
If you are in the middle of this right now: stop, and copy everything. Make a plain file-level copy of the local Sage company folder on every machine that has one, before anyone attempts another reconnect, re-download, or restore. Those copies cost you nothing and they are frequently what makes a full recovery possible.
Then send us what you have. We will tell you what is recoverable and what it costs. The evaluation is free, and if we cannot recover your data there is no charge.
If this has left you wanting your books somewhere less fragile, that is a common reaction - we also convert Sage 50 to QuickBooks.
