Sage 300 (Accpac) to QuickBooks Conversion
Scaling back from Sage 300? We move your Accpac data into QuickBooks.
When this makes sense
Sage 300 - still widely known by its original name, Accpac - is built for multi-entity, multi-currency operations. Plenty of businesses running it no longer need that reach: the second entity was wound up, the foreign operation closed, or the company simply got simpler. What is left is an ERP being maintained for a single company doing straightforward accounting.
If QuickBooks covers what you actually do now, we can move your Sage 300 data across and let the Accpac system go.
What we move
Sage 300 runs on several different database backends and its module set varies from site to site, so the conversion is built from your Sage 300 exports rather than from a single company file.
That usually covers the general ledger and chart of accounts, customers and vendors, inventory items, open receivables and payables, and the transaction history you want retained. We reconcile the converted file against your Sage 300 trial balance and financial statements before it comes back to you.
Multi-currency needs a conversation
This is the single biggest planning item on a Sage 300 job. Sage 300 handles foreign currency with a depth QuickBooks does not match: multiple rate types, revaluation history, and per-entity currency settings. QuickBooks has multi-currency, but the model is simpler.
If your Accpac file is genuinely multi-currency, we will explain during the evaluation exactly how your balances and history will land in QuickBooks and what changes about your reporting. It is workable, but it is a decision to make with open eyes rather than something to discover afterwards.
What needs planning
- Multiple companies. Sage 300 commonly holds several entities. QuickBooks keeps one company per file, so a multi-entity Accpac system becomes multiple QuickBooks files. We scope that before we start.
- Project and Job Costing. Converts as structure and balances rather than as a like-for-like module.
- Custom reports, forms, and Crystal layouts. Rebuilt in QuickBooks, not converted.
How to get a quote
This is a custom-quoted service. Tell us your Sage 300 or Accpac version, how many companies are in the system, whether multi-currency is in use, which modules you run, and how much history you want to keep. We will evaluate it and send back a flat fee. The evaluation is free.
