Sage 100 (MAS 90/200) to QuickBooks Conversion
Sage 100 heavier than your business needs? We move the books into QuickBooks.
When this makes sense
Sage 100 - and the MAS 90 and MAS 200 systems it grew out of - is a full ERP. Businesses land on it during a growth phase and then find, years later, that they are maintaining an ERP to do work QuickBooks would handle. When the module list you actually use has shrunk to the general ledger, receivables, payables, and inventory, the ERP is mostly overhead.
We move your Sage 100 data into QuickBooks Desktop or Online so you keep the history without keeping the system.
What we move
Sage 100 stores its data very differently depending on how yours was deployed. The classic ProvideX installations behave nothing like the SQL-backed Advanced and Premium editions, and the module set varies enormously from one site to the next. The conversion is therefore built from your Sage 100 exports rather than by opening a single company file.
Typically that means your chart of accounts, customers, vendors, inventory items, open receivables and payables, and the transaction history you want carried forward. We map your Sage 100 segment structure onto the closest QuickBooks equivalent and reconcile the result against your Sage trial balance before delivery.
What needs planning
A few Sage 100 features have no direct QuickBooks counterpart and are handled as post-conversion setup rather than automatic data:
- Module-specific detail. Job Cost, Bill of Materials, and Work Order carry structure QuickBooks models differently. We tell you up front which of your modules convert as data and which convert as opening balances.
- Segmented account codes. Sage 100’s account segmentation often maps to QuickBooks classes or sub-accounts. Which one is right depends on how you report.
- Custom reports and forms. These are rebuilt in QuickBooks, not converted.
We flag every one of these that applies to your file during the evaluation, so nothing is a surprise after delivery.
How to get a quote
This is a custom-quoted service. Tell us your Sage 100 version and edition, which modules you run, how many years of history you want to keep, and whether you are moving to QuickBooks Desktop or Online. We will evaluate it and send back a flat fee. The evaluation is free.
Not sure what your Sage 100 installation can export? Ask anyway - working that out is part of the evaluation.
