Will Sage 50 price levels and quantity discounts convert to QuickBooks?

It depends on the file: most Sage 50 price levels can map across to QuickBooks price levels, but quantity discounts often need re-entry or custom mapping.

Mostly yes for price levels, and it depends for quantity discounts. Item price levels are a list, and in most Sage 50 to QuickBooks conversions we can carry that list across and rebuild it as QuickBooks price levels. Quantity discounts are the less predictable part. The two programs model volume pricing differently, so some of that setup may need re-entry or custom handling after the move.

How do price levels map across?

Sage 50 keeps tiered item pricing in price levels, and QuickBooks handles the same job with its own price level tools. Our engineers map one to the other: each Sage level becomes a QuickBooks price level, and the prices stored on each item move with it. Simple percentage-based levels translate cleanly. Levels that hold a custom price per item also have a place to land, though the exact fit depends on how your levels are built.

Does per-customer pricing carry over?

A price level only helps if the right customer receives it. If a customer record in Sage points to a specific level, that assignment can usually move with the customer during conversion. Invoices you create afterward then price themselves as expected. Customer pricing that is not tied to a named level, or that depends on quantity breaks, is a different matter.

What happens to quantity discounts?

Quantity discounts are the part of pricing that most often needs extra work in a conversion. QuickBooks does not have one feature that mirrors Sage quantity pricing in every situation, so the outcome depends on your file. Some discount setups convert into a workable equivalent. Some convert only partially, and some are faster to re-enter by hand once the rest of the data is across. Rather than guess, we look at your actual discount structure before the conversion and tell you which group you fall into.

Getting your pricing checked first

Our Sage 50 to QuickBooks conversion service begins with a free evaluation of your data, and pricing is one of the areas our engineers review. We report which price levels map directly, which customer assignments carry over, and which quantity discounts would need re-entry or custom work. You see that summary and a quote before anything is converted.

The useful next step is to request the evaluation and flag pricing as a concern up front. Discount structures found before a conversion are straightforward to plan around. Found after, they surface as wrong prices on invoices, which is a harder problem to unwind.
