Will open Sage Intacct purchase orders convert to QuickBooks?
Usually yes: open purchase orders can carry over as open QuickBooks purchase orders, and any commitment without a direct match is summarized.
In most conversions, yes. Open purchase orders from Sage Intacct can be rebuilt as open purchase orders in QuickBooks, so receiving and vendor bill matching continue after the switch. When an order cannot be matched one-to-one, the open commitment is summarized rather than dropped. Which orders land in each group depends on the file, so we confirm it with a free evaluation before any work begins.
Mapping open orders
A direct conversion reads each open order out of the Intacct data and rebuilds it as a QuickBooks purchase order. The vendor, the dates, the line detail, and the quantity or amount still open are the pieces that matter. When those line up, the result behaves like an order you entered in QuickBooks yourself: you can record receipts against it and match vendor bills to it as usual.
The destination plays a part too. Purchase order support differs between QuickBooks Desktop editions and QuickBooks Online plans, so you settle the target before we build the mapping.
What happens when an order has no direct match?
Some commitments do not translate cleanly. Partially received orders, lines tied to Intacct-specific constructs, or commitments that depend on approval flow may have no clean QuickBooks counterpart. Those get summarized: the outstanding balance is preserved against the vendor, often as a consolidated open order, while the line-level detail is reduced. The commitment still shows; its shape changes. We list every affected order in the evaluation so nothing arrives as a surprise.
Close them first, or convert them open?
You have a real choice at cutover. Bringing the open orders across keeps the workflow alive in QuickBooks, which suits long lead times and standing orders. Closing or finishing them in Intacct before the conversion, and moving only history, gives a cleaner cutover, but you track the remaining tail by hand. Short open-order lists usually favor closing first. Busy ones usually favor converting them open.
Our Sage Intacct to QuickBooks conversion work covers the rest of the ledger in the same pass, so open orders get decided alongside history and balances.
The next step
Send a copy of the Intacct data for a free evaluation. Our engineers will report which open orders convert one-to-one, which are summarized, and what the full conversion includes, with a quote before anything is touched. Decide which QuickBooks you are moving to first, since that choice shapes the whole answer.
