What happens to Sage 50 recurring transactions when converting to QuickBooks?
Converting Sage 50 to QuickBooks does not transfer recurring invoices, bills, or journal entries; you must re-enter them in QuickBooks.
When you convert a Sage 50 company file to QuickBooks, recurring invoices, bills, or journal entries do not become memorized transactions in the new file. They must be entered again manually after the conversion is finished.
Details
The conversion process transfers core data such as customers, vendors, chart of accounts, and historical transactions. However, the recurring transaction templates that Sage 50 stores separately are not mapped to QuickBooks memorized transactions. As a result, each recurring invoice, bill, or journal entry that you had set up in Sage 50 will appear as a regular transaction history only. The automation that generated it on a schedule is not recreated. To regain the same automated entry behavior you need to create new memorized transactions in QuickBooks for each item you want to repeat.
After conversion steps
Once the Sage 50 file has been converted, open the resulting QuickBooks company file and check the lists for customers, vendors, and items. You will see that any recurring transaction templates are missing from the memorized transaction list. To set up a recurring invoice, go to the Customers menu, choose Create Invoices, fill in the details, and then select Memorize Invoice from the Edit menu. For a recurring bill, use the Vendors menu, pick Enter Bills, complete the form, and click Memorize Bill. For a recurring journal entry, open the Company menu, choose Make General Journal Entries, enter the data, and press Memorize. After you have recreated the memorized transactions, run a quick test by posting one instance of each to ensure the automation works as expected.
