How much does it cost to convert Sage 50 to QuickBooks?
The cost depends on your file: years of history, transaction volume, and list sizes, so we quote each conversion after a free evaluation.
There is no single number, because there is no single Sage 50 file. The cost depends on how much data you have and how much of it you want moved. We quote every conversion individually, after a free evaluation of your file, so the figure you get reflects your company rather than a guess.
What drives the price?
Three things matter most. The first is years of history: a file with two years of transactions is a smaller job than one with fifteen. The second is transaction volume, the sheer count of invoices, bills, payments, and journal entries to be moved. The third is list size: customers, vendors, employees, items, and the chart of accounts all need rebuilding in QuickBooks, and long lists take longer than short ones.
Complexity plays a part as well. Inventory, payroll history, multicurrency, and job costing each add mapping and review time. A tidy file with simple lists is a quicker job than a tangled one, which is why we look before we quote.
Do you pay a flat fee or per item?
We quote flat. Per-item pricing, where you pay so much per customer or per transaction, is hard to budget and grows as the count grows. A flat quote fixes the total before work begins. You can see what is included, what is excluded, and what it costs, and nothing changes unless you add scope.
What does a full-service conversion include?
A full-service job means our engineers do the work instead of handing you a tool and a manual. We extract the data from your Sage 50 file, rebuild the agreed lists and history in QuickBooks, and check that key totals agree with the old file. You receive a company file you can open and keep working in, not a pile of spreadsheets to import yourself.
The scope, including how many years of history move across, is written into the quote so there are no surprises. Our Sage 50 to QuickBooks conversion service covers the US edition in detail. If your file is the Canadian edition, formerly Simply Accounting, the same evaluation and quoting process applies, and our Sage 50 Canada conversion page covers that path.
