How do I send my Sage 50 file in for a QuickBooks conversion?

Back up your company from inside Sage 50, send us that backup with a few details, and we return your converted QuickBooks data.

You send us a backup made from inside Sage 50, plus a few details about the file, and we return your books as converted QuickBooks data. The original data stays with you throughout, so sending the file in puts nothing at risk.

Make the backup from inside Sage 50

Use the backup command in Sage 50 itself rather than copying data folders by hand. The built-in backup packs the company into a single file, which is what we work from. Close the company first, run the backup, and leave your live data in place.

Never send your only copy. Keep the backup on your own drive and send us a copy of it. Your books then stay untouched while the conversion runs.

What else should you send?

The backup alone leaves our engineers guessing. Include these details with it:

What carries over depends on the file. We confirm that in a free evaluation before work begins, so you know what to expect instead of guessing.

How does the file reach us?

Start by contacting E-Tech about your file. We reply with a secure place to upload the backup, and an engineer confirms receipt and checks what the file contains. US and Canadian Sage 50 files follow the same route. Nothing happens blind; the evaluation comes first.

How do you get the converted data back?

You receive a QuickBooks company file, or a package prepared for import into QuickBooks Online. Restore it, open it in your own QuickBooks, and compare the key balances against Sage. If something looks wrong, tell us and we correct it. Our Sage 50 to QuickBooks conversion service covers the whole loop, from evaluation through a file you can go live on.

The next step is small: make the backup, note the details above, and send them in. Our engineers will evaluate the file and tell you exactly what the conversion involves before you decide anything.
