Will downgrading Sage 50 Quantum keep all my transactions and history?

Yes — a proper downgrade changes the edition but preserves your accounting data, transactions, and history intact.

Yes. When we downgrade your Sage 50 Quantum file to Pro or Premium, the goal is to change the edition tier while leaving your accounting data — every transaction, customer and vendor record, chart of accounts, and historical entry — exactly as it was.

What a downgrade actually does

A downgrade targets the edition layer of your Sage 50 installation. Quantum includes advanced features like multi-user capabilities, additional user licenses, and enhanced workflows that Pro and Premium do not offer. The downgrade strips away that Quantum-specific layer so the file opens and runs in the lower edition. The underlying financial data — invoices, bills, payments, payroll entries, journal entries, reconciliations, and all prior-year history — is not part of what gets removed.

When a review helps

In most files the data carries through cleanly. Occasionally a particular file has elements that need a closer look before we can confirm a clean downgrade — for example, very large databases, customizations tied to Quantum-only modules, or files that already show signs of wear from years of use. Rather than guess, our engineers review the file first so we can tell you definitively what to expect. That review is free.

What to do next

Send us a backup of your Sage 50 Quantum company file. We will examine it, confirm that your full transaction history will carry through the downgrade, and give you a clear quote — no guesswork, no surprises. If you are also considering eventually moving off Sage to QuickBooks, we can assess that path at the same time.
