Can you convert an old or unsupported version of Sage 50?

Yes, older and unsupported Sage 50 versions can often still be converted to QuickBooks. A free file review confirms what is recoverable.

Yes, in most cases we can convert data from old, outdated, or officially unsupported versions of Sage 50. The age of the software alone does not automatically prevent a conversion, though it is one of the factors our engineers verify during a file review.

Why older versions are usually still convertible

Sage 50 data is stored in a company file rather than in the application itself. Even if the Sage version is so old that it will no longer install on a modern computer, the underlying data file can often be read and extracted directly. Our engineers work with legacy editions of Sage 50 (including former Peachtree and Simply Accounting releases), so support being discontinued by the publisher does not necessarily mean the data is stranded.

What a file review confirms

Because every company file is different, the version is only one piece of the puzzle. Before we commit to a conversion path, we perform a file review to confirm:

The review also tells us whether anything in the file is too damaged or incomplete to carry over. Rather than guess at what will or will not survive the conversion, we look at the actual data first.

What to do next

Send us a backup or copy of your Sage 50 company file. We will review it at no cost and tell you exactly what we can convert, what limitations (if any) apply, and what the process would look like. You can start that free evaluation through E-Tech, and our engineers will follow up with findings specific to your file.
