Can Sage Intacct data be converted to QuickBooks after cancelling the subscription?
Yes, if the data exists outside Intacct: access to exports usually ends at cancellation, so download what you need first.
Yes, in most cases, with one condition: the data has to exist somewhere you can still reach. Sage Intacct is a cloud platform, and when a subscription ends, the login and the export screens inside it usually end with it. Conversion to QuickBooks remains possible when you exported your data before cancelling, or when something can be recovered from copies held outside the system.
What should you download before the cancellation date?
Everything the new QuickBooks file will need, gathered while your login still works. Our engineers usually ask for the master lists first: the chart of accounts, customers, vendors, items, and employee records where payroll was used. Then the history: general ledger detail for the years you want to keep, plus open receivables and payables. Year end trial balances are worth saving as well.
The exact set depends on the file and on how much history the new books must hold. If you are unsure, ask for a free evaluation before the cancellation date; our engineers will review your lists and history and tell you exactly what to export. The QuickBooks and Sage data services we provide cover this kind of move from start to finish.
Is anything still reachable after cancellation?
That depends on your contract with the vendor rather than on the conversion itself. Some agreements keep a cancelled company viewable for a period, or allow a paid reactivation, and terms change over time. Those options sit with the vendor’s own account channels; we have no access to your Intacct login, subscription, or billing. If a reactivation window exists, use it to export, because it is the cleanest chance you will get. Ask the vendor directly what your account still allows.
Can the books be rebuilt if nothing was exported?
Often, yes, from copies you already hold. Saved report PDFs, spreadsheets that were emailed around, prior year working papers, bank and card statements, and filed tax returns can be pieced into a workable starting set. That is a rebuild rather than a straight conversion, and how far back it reaches depends on the sources. Our engineers can review what you have and say plainly what is realistic.
The next step
If the subscription is still active, export now, and treat that download as the most valuable thing on the account. If it has already lapsed, gather every copy of the data you hold, even the untidy ones, and note which years they cover. Then send the material for a free evaluation. We will set out what a conversion can carry, what a rebuild can approximate, and where the limits sit, before you commit to either.
