Where to find your Sage 50 file statistics
Before any Sage 50 conversion or downgrade, we ask for your file statistics. Here's exactly where they live and what we use them for.
When you ask us for a Sage 50 conversion or a Quantum downgrade, the first thing we need is your file statistics. They tell us how big the file is and how much history it holds – which is what the scope and turnaround are based on.
Where they are
In Sage 50, open your company file and go to:
Help > Support Utilities > File Statistics
Sage opens a window listing the size of the file and the row counts for the major tables – the journal header and rows, the audit trail, your customer, vendor, and employee lists, inventory, and the grand total size.
What we look at
A few numbers drive the work more than the others:
- Grand total size – this tells us which size band a Quantum downgrade falls into and how involved a conversion will be.
- Journal header and rows – roughly how many transactions are in the file, which shapes the conversion scope.
- Audit trail and list sizes – these tell us how complex the file is to convert cleanly.
The fastest way to get a quote
Take a screenshot of the File Statistics window and send it to us along with your Sage version and where you’re headed – a lower Sage edition, or QuickBooks. That’s usually enough for us to come back with a quote the same day.
